Amtrak offers two routes that travel through Vermont:

The Ethan Allen Express runs daily between New York City and Rutland, VT by way of Albany, NY. Vermont Stations served include Castleton and Rutland.

The Vermonter runs daily between St Albans, VT and Washington, DC. Vermont Stations served include St. Albans, Essex Junction, Waterbury, Montpelier, Randolph, White River Junction, Windsor, Bellows Falls, and Brattleboro.
