Our Body: the Universe Within is a traveling science exhibit on human anatomy. The exhibit consists of six galleries of actual human specimens in a logical presentation of the biological systems of the human body: Musculoskeletal, Head and Nervous, Urinary/Reproductive (including a unit on prenatal), Digestive, Respiratory, and Cardiovascular. The exhibition was designed to educate, enlighten, and allow all who attend to understand the complexities of the human body and to see how each system functions and relates to all the other systems. As a way to orient the visitor, the exhibit opens with a display of the history of anatomy throughout the ages from the earliest drawings to the present-day process of plastination.

One Vermont organization is turning recycled clothing into cash for community benefit. On May 11-12, 2012, The Clothes Exchange, Vermont’s social enterprise dedicated to eco-friendly fashion, will host its annual fundraising event at the top of the Church Street Marketplace in Burlington, VT. The pop-up shop is presented with generous support from presenting sponsor Seventh Generation, the nation's leading brand of environmentally-friendly products, and is made up of two events: • SHOP FIRST will take place on May 11, 6-8pm. Tickets are $110. Attendees enjoy the benefit of a personal shopper and stylist. • The POP-UP SHOP will be free and open to the public on Saturday, May 12, from 11am-6pm. Attendees can purchase pre-loved apparel and new items donated by more than 20 local retailers and national brands, at bargain prices of nearly 80% off.

Over sixty women will be joined by world-class pianist, Alki Steriopoulos, clarinet virtuoso, Anna Patton, and Patton’s Women’s Vocal Harmony Ensemble class at the Vermont Jazz Center. The concert will feature two songs by composer Diane Benjamin, one of which was arranged for the chorus, “Enjoy Your Life.” Several gospel songs will be sung, including “Lookin’ for a Miracle.” Also presented will be Graber’s arrangement of the jazz standard, “God Bless the Child.” Tickets only at the door.
