River Rock School’s Silent and Called auction will be held Saturday March 23rd at the Unitarian Church in Montpelier. The preview and silent auction starts at 1:00 pm and the live called auction will begins at 1:30 pm. The live auction is always a show and there will be food and drinks for sale. The proceeds help support River Rock School, a small independent school offering handcrafted education in Montpelier. Our Body: the Universe Within is a traveling science exhibit on human anatomy. The exhibit consists of six galleries of actual human specimens in a logical presentation of the biological systems of the human body: Musculoskeletal, Head and Nervous, Urinary/Reproductive (including a unit on prenatal), Digestive, Respiratory, and Cardiovascular. The exhibition was designed to educate, enlighten, and allow all who attend to understand the complexities of the human body and to see how each system functions and relates to all the other systems. As a way to orient the visitor, the exhibit opens with a display of the history of anatomy throughout the ages from the earliest drawings to the present-day process of plastination.

The Green Mountain Comedy Festival brings joy and laughter to Vermont each year by producing an exciting series of hilarious, affordable comedy shows that feature Vermont comedians. Now in its fourth year, the GMCF is going to be bigger and better than ever! The festival takes place from Monday, May 21 to Sunday, May 27. This fun week of uproarious comedy features nearly 100 standup & improv comics in over 20 performances at venues throughout the Green Mountain State. It’s been a long, weird winter. Humor brings people together, inspires creativity, provokes thought and relieves stress. Get out there this Spring and have some laughs!

2nd Annual Thundering Skies Charity Air Show to support the Vermont National Guard Charitable Foundation. This fun-filled, family-friendly event will include aerobatic demonstrations by talented pilots from all over the Northeast and Canada. Static displays will feature unique airplanes from Piper Cub to Christian Eagle to Baby Lakes and so many more! The 300 MPH 8270 A/BGS land speed car built and driven by Dan Marcotte will be on display for up close and personal viewing. The local band Silverback is back by popular demand. Other entertainment includes FREE face painting, bouncey castle, kids activities, hot air balloons, RC airplane demonstrations, concessions and more! Parking is FREE and gate entry is a suggested donation of $5 for kids (ages 5-18), $10 adults, and $25 for a family of four.
