Time: /title>
Contact Name: /title>

For the phlox fanciers among you, we hold a Phlox Festival every year here at the nursery, always the first two weeks in August. This is the time when the majority of our 130 phlox are blooming, and so it’s a wonderful opportunity to see dozens of cultivars in bloom, and to see firsthand the differences in color, shape, height and fragrance, which are so difficult to describe in writing. It’s a pretty nice show of color, and we think you’ll be happy to discover how much action there can be in a late summer garden, especially when phlox are combined with other late-bloomers such as heleniums, asters, burnets and coneflowers. During the Fest, Rachel will be leading garden tours every afternoon at 1:00 (except Mondays), although we usually have a guest speaker or two as well, including Dr. Leonard Perry, UVM Extension Agent and a host of WCAX’s ‘Across the Fence’ who is an extremely knowledgeable horticulturalist, and a fan of Phlox. There will be a phlox cut flower display, where you can compare the fragrance and subtleties of color side by side, and you can sign up for door prizes, including a chance to ‘win’ Rachel for a garden consultation

Les Racquet is an indie rock power trio with three-part vocal harmonies and virtuosic musicianship. The trio performs songs that peak the interest of learned musicians and mainstream listeners alike. Les Racquet conveys energy and vitality on stage by unleashing bursts of rock n’ roll improv around intimate vocal moments. The members of the youthful trio are musically learned beyond their years, allowing them the ability to move between classic and worldly genres while adding their own contemporary edge to each style. Les Racquet follows the belief that being on stage is a privilege. The band respects the diversity of individual tastes and prides itself on an ability to entertain fans from all backgrounds. The band released its self-titled debut album “Les Racquet” in May of 2011, available on iTunes. During its first year as a band Les Racquet has been completely “do it yourself”: expanding its horizons to include: managing, booking, marketing, producing and recording. As of yet there has been no need to involve a label or PR firm. Les Racquet will continue this D.I.Y. model until the necessity arises or the perfect business relationship presents itself. Les Racquet tracked a 6 song EP with Drift Design Studios in Somerville, MA in early November. Projected release in late December 2011. Les Racquet prepares to hit the road this fall/winter on a tour ranging from Montreal to Austin and beyond, regrouping at home base in Brooklyn before the next chapter.
