E.C. Browns' Plant Auction 9/21/14 - 9/21/14
We at E. C. Browns' Nursery have been having a Plant Auction at the nursery every fall for the past 16 years. Elmer Brown, the founder and owner of our nursery, conceived the idea back in 1998. We got together a bunch of plants, advertised a bit, and Elmer served as the auctioneer. It was low key, fun, and most of all VERY popular... so much so that we have been doing it every year since. A list of plants to be auctioned will be available on our website on Tuesday, September 17. E.C. Browns' Annual Plant Auction Sunday, September 21, 2013 Registration and viewing begin at 11:00 Bidding starts at Noon 802-785-2167 http://www.ecbrownsnursery.biz/

Discussion of VT READS book, “Wonder” 9/23/14 - 9/23/14
A discussion on Wonder, a New York Times bestseller, with scholar Francette Cerulli. This program is open to the public. VT Reads is a program of the Vermont Humanities Council and hosted by the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Wonder is an extraordinary tale about a powerful, shared feeling that is present throughout our entire lives: the desire to fit-in and be accepted -- a source of anxiety for all of us, but it is particulary intense when we are growing up, especially if we are different. August is an “ordinary ten-year-old kid”, apart from a marked facial deformity. Come to the library, take out the book, and read August’s remarkable stories of struggles and triumphs as he deals with the unwelcomed attention and skin-deep judgements that are all-too-common in our society. Then, come back and share your own stories!
