Reading Freud with Psychologist Peter Burmeister 2/1/16 - 3/7/16

Mondays, (February 1, February 8, February 22, February 29, and March 7) at 6:30 pm This course has been conceived as a very brief introduction to the writings of this remarkable man. Selected readings will include excerpts from The Interpretation of Dreams, Totem and Taboo, The Freud Reader, and the classical drama Oedipus Rex. Bring your copy of the books (we are using James Strachey translations) or pick up a copies at the library.


Art Exhibit at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library 2/5/16 - 2/16/16

“On Certain Days…” is an exhibit of photographs by Montpelier artist Linda Hogan and will open at the Kellogg Hubbard Library on Friday, February 5th from 4 -5:30 PM as part of Montpelier’s Art Walk. This exhibit runs through February 28, 2016. Linda is a painter and photographer. Her photographic images are represented in Central Vermont at Global Gifts in Montpelier, and permanent collections can be seen at Montpelier City Hall, the Vermont Mutual Insurance Company, the Community National Bank in Barre, Jay Peak Resort and in Chittenden County at the Essex, and at the Vermont Institute for Emerging Technologies at UVM. Her work has been shown throughout New England. Linda studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Rhode Island School of Design, earned B.A from Goddard College, and received her MFA at Vermont College.
