A Matter of Balance is a research-based program that examines different ways to overcome our fear of falls and to learn how to prevent them. As we get older, falls can have serious consequences. We may recover more slowly, may be unable to carry out our activities and may even lose our independence. Paradoxically, by trying to prevent falls through a decrease in activity we may, in fact increase our chance of falling. This is an 8 week course. At this introductory session you have an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the program to determine if it would be of benefit to you.
