Vermont Trivia
True or False?

Fact: The first snowboard was invented in Vermont.

False! - The first snowboard was actually developed out West in the 1920's, but Vermont has had a large role in making it the huge sport it is today. The snowboard sort of languished for many years until Manchester's Jake Burton Carpenter developed the snurfer (snow-surfer)... you may know him now as the founder of Burton Snowboards. The first snowboarding competitions were also held in Vermont in the late 1970's and early 1980's at Suicide Six in Pomfret.
