Give the Gift of Life - Become a Marrow Donor
Israel Congregation of Manchester is sponsoring a Community Bone
Marrow Registration Drive in cooperation with the Rutland Regional
Medical Center on Thursday, November 10th, from 1pm-6pm. The
purpose is to add potential marrow donors to the National Marrow Donor Program
Registry. On any given day, approximately 5000 people with life threatening
blood diseases search the Registry for potential donors. Volunteer donors
must be between 18 and 60, in good general health and willing to consider donating
marrow to anyone searching the Registry. Your participation gives hope
to the more than 30,000 children and adults who are diagnosed with blood diseases
each year.

Mocha Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Off the beaten track and nestled in the woods - yet only 3.5 miles from Mount Snow,
The Inn at Quail Run is located on 15 pristine wooded acres
and offers spectacular views of the Deerfield Valley and Haystack
Mountain. Recently voted the "Best Country Inn", "Best Brunch"
and the "Best Place for a Wedding" in the valley by readers of the
Deerfield Valley News.

Mocha Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins
by The Inn at Quail Run |
1 cup margarine
1 1/4 cups white sugar
1 egg
3 ripe bananas
1 Tablespoon instant coffee granules, dissolved in 1 Tablespoon hot water
|
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup mine chocolate chips
|
1. Preheat oven to 350 (convection 300)
2. Blend butter or margarine, sugar, egg, banana, coffee, and vanilla in food
processor for 2 minutes.
3. Add flour, salt, baking powder and soda, and blend just until flour disappears.
4. Add chocolate chips and mix.
5. Spoon into muffin tins with paper liners.
6. Bake for 30 minutes. Makes 15-18

will you find billboards.
TRUE! - A closely regulated
signage ordinance allows the placement of discreet yet clear signage at all major
intersections throughout the state, yet does not allow billboards to be constructed.
In addition to signage controls, Vermonters have been successful at convincing big
businesses, especially fast food restaurants, to design contextually sensitive new
facilities. Alaska, Hawaii, and Maine are other states that do not allow billboards.
