This holiday season, give yourself the gift of letting go. Restorative Yoga is the yoga of un-doing. Through the use of props, we will surrender into completely supported postures for several minutes at a time. The focus of this practice is to foster total relaxation, rather than stretch or tone muscles. Beginners will find a very gentle introduction to yoga; more advanced practitioners may take their internal practice to a deeper level. These poses are a perfect way to combat physical and emotional stress. The workshop will culminate with Yoga Nidra, which translates to yogic sleep. This practice is a deep guided relaxation similar to a completely lucid nap. Yoga Nidra is an excellent way to calm anxieties and access the serenity within. This workshop is open to everyone, from very beginners to advanced yoga practitioners. Please dress in warm, comfortable clothing.
Refreshments following the service.
Come celebrate the shortest day of the year with 36 sun salutations interspersed with 18 moon salutations. Stephanie will lead 6 rounds of 6 distinct variations of sun salutations and 3 rounds of 6 different versions of moon salutations. Listening to your body is encouraged whenever needed, and you can rest whenever needed. This is a great opportunity to be in community, and rededicate yourself to your yoga practice during this busy season.
