Your Guide to Snowmobiling in Vermont

Snowmobiling in Vermont has been a favorite winter pastime for over 40 years. Vermont makes snowmobiling easy with over 5,000 well-marked miles of the best-groomed trails snow allows, crossing public and private land.

The Vermont Association of Snow Travelers (VAST), together with local clubs, maintains Vermont's snowmobile trail network with over 120 groomers. Many community-based clubs hold friendly events every weekend, all winter long, and a typical snowmobile season in Vermont runs from December 1 through April 1.

All it takes to snowmobile in Vermont is a trail pass (TMA), a valid state registration, and insurance. Or take a guided tour from one of Vermont's many snowmobile tour operators. If you are already registered in your home state or province, you do not need to re-register in Vermont, but you must join a local club and purchase a trail pass.
