The City of Newport is located in the
"Northeast Kingdom"
region of Vermont, on the Canadian Border. It is a four-season resort area on the
southern port of Lake Memphremagog, in Orleans County, Vermont. Reports of a
mysterious creature in the waters of Lake Memphremagog on the Vermont-Quebec border
date back to the 18th century. Officially dubbed Memphre, the Lake Memphremagog
Monster has been spotted more than 200 times over the years, but its true identity
remains a mystery.
