Hyde Log Cabin is Vermont's oldest log cabin, built by Jedediah Hyde, Jr. circa 1783. The cabin was moved about two miles to its present location in 1945 and stabilized for further restoration. Today, the Grand Isle County Historical Society has furnished the cabin and uses it as a meeting place, a museum, and a local information center. The Hyde Log Cabin is open July 4 through mid-October, Saturday and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
