Komen Race for the Cure is the leader for the breast cancer movement worldwide. Started in 1982 by Susan Komen's sister, Nancy. Since the first race in Manchester, VT, the Vermont for the Cure has raised more then $9 million dollars for breast cancer awareness, treatment and screening programs. 3/4 of that stayed right in the community with the remaining helping the Susan G. Komen Cure nationwide.
