The Old Stone House Museum offers 21 rooms of exhibits focusing on 19th century life in northern Vermont. The building, a monumental stone dormitory called Athenian Hall, was built in 1834-36 by Rev. Alexander Twilight, the nation’s first African-American college graduate and state legislator. The Old Stone House Museum is a stop on the Vermont African American Heritage Trail.

Admission is by guided tour only. Begin your tour at the Twilight House across the road from the Museum. There is no tour schedule; when a visitor arrives, a tour will begin. If a tour is already in progress, visitors may have to wait for the next tour to begin.
