The Playhouse Movie Theatre is the oldest purpose built movie theater in Vermont and one of the oldest in the nation. Formation of the Playhouse Cooperative in 2012 allowed the theater to upgrade to digital equipment and ensure its survival. The Playhouse remains a consumer cooperative to this day.
