Description: Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning (GMALL) welcomes Professor Elizabeth Sherman of Bennington College to talk about coral reefs as indicators of climate change. Coral Reefs are among the most diverse, unique and beautiful ecosystems on the planet and home to 25% of all marine life. Alas, they are also quite vulnerable to various environmental assaults and most of the reefs on earth are in real jeopardy. This presentation will explore what coral reefs are and why they are so important (even to us in Vermont) with photos and videos of the Caribbean coral reefs Sherman has been studying. Registration is $15 in advance or $20 at the door. For more information or to register, please call 802-867-0111 or visit www.greenmtnacademy.org.
