Description: St. Michael's College, McCarthy Arts Center presents: "To the Village Square" photography exhibition by Lionel Delevingne with panel discussion on October 18th, 2018. -Exhibition on view October 11th thru December 8th, 2018 -Opening reception Thursday, Oct 18, 5:30 -6:30, artist talk at 6:00pm -Panel Discussion follows on Thursday, Oct 18, 7:00 pm: "When Activism Drives Art, and Art Drives Activism" will explore historical and contemporary examples of the intersection and reciprocal nature of art and activism as it relates to the anti-nuclear movement. In particular, the panel will examine how the success of the anti-nuclear movement can be used as a model for changing the course of events with environmental threats we face today. Panelists - Aileen Mioko Smith founder and Executive Director of Green Action, Japan, Paul Gunter co-founder Clamshell Alliance, Jay Gustaferro, co-founder Clamshell Alliance, and Lionel Delevingne, photographer.
