Fall Festivals

Vermont's fall festival season runs from Labor Day weekend straight through the first snow, and it peaks right when the leaves do. Mountain resorts throw brewfests at the base lodge, village greens fill with juried craft tents and pie tables, and whole towns close Main Street for a Saturday. This is the 2026 slate, with the weekends still ahead up top and September's events kept below so you can plan next year. Before you drive, check the Vermont Foliage Tracker and this week's Foliage Report to see which region is at peak, and browse the Calendar of Events for everything else happening this fall.

The best of the best. The cream of the crop. The cow's pajamas. These are the fall weekends worth planning an entire Vermont trip around in 2026, and all three land on the same peak-foliage weekend. Pick one, book a room nearby, and let us know what you think.

Stratton's HarvestFest Weekend and Brewfest

October 9 - 11, 2026 · Brewfest Saturday, October 10, 11:30 am - 5:30 pm
Stratton's HarvestFest weekend is the southern Vermont foliage trip in one place. Ride the gondola to the summit and climb the fire tower for a 360-degree look at peak color, then come down for hay rides, live music in the village, mountaintop yoga, lift-served biking and kids' games. Saturday is the main event: the annual Brewfest pours Vermont craft ales, lagers, sours and ciders at the base area, with the Chili Cook-Off running alongside. HarvestFest itself is free; Brewfest tickets are $25 (ages 11 and up) and $15 for ages 4 to 10.
